This folder contains a variety of underwater pictures
The Superior Producer is the wreck of a small freighter that went under just outside the harbor of Curaçao. It is sitting upright on the sand in about 80 to 100 feet of water. It is a nice wreck, but diving is not always easy over here because of the current. The wreck is reachable from the coast and is marked with a buoy. On the coast a big stone with a dive sign is marking the entry point.
The wreck is fully covered with coral and sponges. I never did a night dive here, but it should be beautiful because of the abundance of Orange Cup Coral. At night a boat dive is advised.
Some of the fish of Curacao. There is a lot of fish in the waters around Curacao. While diving most of the time you will be surrounded by them. Some are solitary or in small groups but most of the time you will encounter large groups of fish.
The waters of Curaçao are the home for a lot of different kind of creatures; most of these are small and only visible to the diver who knows where to look.
Curaçao has a lot of different sponges and corals along its coast. This photo gallery shows only a small sample of these. Especially to the Western part of the island (Lagun and Jerime) there are a lot of big barrel sponges.
This gallery contains the underwater pictures that I consider the best I have taken with my new camera, the Sealife DC500.
Here are some pictures of a special dive. The location is Lagun, Curaçao, the watertemperature is 26 degrees Celsius (79 Fahrenheit). The pictures are taken with my Nikonos camera with Nikonos 105 flash on Fuji color film, 200 ASA. This dive was special, because it was the third time we went diving to see the Black Sea Hare snails. This time I had the camera with me (the first time I did not) and this time everything went well (the second dive my film did not transport).
